Mental Wellness – How to Handle Stress/Anxiety
As we are all navigating this new “normal” in our daily lives, feeling increased levels of stress/anxiety may be more common than when we were following our previous routines. The most common signs of anxiety and stress that you may notice are:
You can manage and alleviate these feelings by dedicating time for self-care. Here are some examples:
Prioritize your physical and mental health.
By getting plenty of sleep, incorporating regular exercise, and healthy eating habits, you not only are taking care of your physical health but your mental health as well. Try home workouts from YouTube, and schedule video therapy appointments to keep your body and mind healthy
Take regular work breaks.
Make sure to schedule time away from your desk to get fresh air and sunlight.
Work at staying connected.
FaceTime or call family, friends and colleagues to catch up and visit (virtually through video when possible).
Use your free time to relax.
Relax with reading, music, a fun hobby, or meditation – the Calm app is a great resource. Listen to calming sounds or music – YouTube has a library of nature and meditation content to stream in the background during work time and kids school time. Try searching for “ocean waves crashing”, “nature”, “space scenery”, and “meditation frequency music”.
Focus on things in your life that are going well and that you can control.
Shifting your focus on the things that are going well in your life can give you a sense of control in challenging times. Try writing down three things you are grateful for everyday.
Limit how much time you spend reading or watching the news.

Alteryx Japan recognizes that life insurance cover and pension provision and are an important part of your benefits.
You will be joining a This solution is in the form of a Japanese Corporate Life Insurance through NN Life Japan (エヌエヌ生命保険株式会社) Life Insurance Company, there after “the Policy”).
The Policy will cover death and high disability. Up to 2x (two times) your base annual salary will be paid to your remaining family in the unfortunate event of your passing away while being an Alteryx employee.
In addition, Alteryx will provide a pension benefit. The pension benefit is equal to one month’s gross base annual salary, excluding commissions and bonus, per year of service. Employees are eligible for the retirement benefit after 1 year of employment with Alteryx. Employees are not required to make a contribution in order to receive this benefit. Alteryx Japan’s retirement age is 65 years old.

If a public holiday falls on a Saturday, there will not be a substitute holiday or time off in lieu. If a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the next Monday is substituted for the holiday. When there is a single day between two national holidays, it is also taken as a holiday.
Regular full-time employees earn paid annual leave equal to (20) days per year OR (160) hours per year, (25) days per year OR (200) hours per year after (3) years of service. Balances are front-loaded January 1st, all unused days/hours will rollover and need to be used by December 31st or will be forfeited. New hires receive a pro-rated amount based on their month of hire.
Regular full-time and part-time employees working 30 hours or more are eligible for up to sixteen (16) workweeks of paid leave bonding time following the birth or adoption of a child. Take Steps to Protect Yourself and Others:
Please contact your Medical Benefits provider or healthcare provider for more information in regard to testing and treatment for COVID-19 in your area.
If you separate from the company before retirement age, the benefit amount which is paid out by the Pension Scheme will be a pro-rated sum based on years of service. This refund will be paid to you as a retirement allowance (退職金) on the payroll following your last day of employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to declare these earnings to the Japanese Tax Authority as such.
Alteryx reserves the right to withhold any allowances owed to the company from the final amount.
Life Assurance The benefit provides a lump sum payment (up to JPY 20,000,000 yen for employees and managers, and ~2x’s your annual base salary for directors) to your heirs in the event of your death. The benefit will be paid by Alteryx to your heirs as your Retirement Allowance (退職金) and will be considered as such in your inheritance.
In order to enroll into this benefit, you may need to pass a medical examination arranged by NN Life Japan (エヌエヌ生命保険株式会社) or will be required to provide medical information to the insurance company.
